I found myself this past year dealing with the passing of my Dad in March and my Mom a short time later in October. Nobody can prepare you for dealing with loss of a loved one and the very slow process of dying. My sister and I appreciated the medical care both parents received but really were lost when it came to understanding the stages of of dying and how we could comfort our mother. Tanis was a virtual guiding presence for us during the last days with my Mom; she suggested ways to say our goodbyes in a meaningful way and walked us through the stages of dying and what we could expect. Tanis had suggested playing music for my Mom and I am so glad she passed away peacefully listening to her favorite Tom Petty song. Tanis has showed us that Death can be celebrated and meaningful as opposed to dark and confusing. Losing a loved one isn't easy and you don't have to do it alone.
